3/25/12 Hey guys so I'm changing my question that I'm aswering today to the one that Dr. Duncan posted, HOW IT TRAVELS THROUGH YOUR EAR. Instead of, "What body parts do sound travel through".... Just wanted to let you guys know. :o) On her message to us she had written suggestions on how we can answer our questions for sound. SOUND: WHAT IS SOUND? EXPLAIN WHAT IT IS, HOW IT TRAVELS THROUGH AIR AND WATER, PITCH, HOW IT TRAVELS THROUGH YOUR EAR. We/You may want to change your question to one of the above if .... this is what we have. 3/22/12 Hey everyone Gabby and I (Mike) just posted the questions for Physical Science: sound. good luck and if you need any help post on here or email everyone. DONT BE SHY hahaha
2/28 - Hi guys hope you're all having a good week, not sure about you all but I'm looking forward to to having a week off.
Anyway I figured we could all talk tomorrow at some point about what we need to do for the powerpoing presentation etc...
Erinn
btw I posted this twice (on the home page too) I wasn't sure which place everyone looked. Also don't forget your current event question I had made a page for them.
2/23 - Looks good, I like the activity :o)
Erinn
2/23 hey everyone! So i made a small post activity for our zoo field trip, its on the field trip form page. We can finish the KWL chart and then give the students a handout with pictures of bears and have them list facts about three different types of bears and what types of environments they live in. If you want let me know if you like it or not and I guess we can send it to Dr. Duncan? Thanks for any input.
-Mike-
2/21 Hey guys so do we still need a Follow up activity for our class? And yes I think 3rd graders are good if you are okay with that?
So the pre-activity we are going to have the KWL chart? (We have the state standards) Then we have the scavenger hunt when the kids are at the zoo? Then we just need a follow up activity? If we dont have a follow up activity I can do it tomorrow after the midterm and post it?
Let me know if that's okay. -Mike
2/21 -
Alrighty first off this was a huge miscommunication!! I apologize if I wasn't clear with what I wrote. The stuff I had wrote was for the "Programs offered for the specific grade levels and content areas" that the zoo offered. This had nothing to do with our standards or activity. Amber I had emailed you back, sorry if you never got it, comcast has been acting up. I want this to me a group project. Going forward lets be more clearer on who is submitting what and what needs to be submitted. As we had left it that last wednesday I thought we each were going to add more to the "Pre-Trip Activity" like expand on what we talked about which was the KWL and questioning and the same for the "follow- up activity" and I had thought Amber you had said you would look up "connection to standards" Sorry I assumed that.... Let's put this all behind us and work on the second part of the semester. :o) CONNECTION TO PA STANDARDS:
So I assumed that everything but the standards were added The week we met. I was under the assumption that you Erinn were submitting everything that we discussed. I thought WE were all good except for standards, which there aren't any for science in 2nd grade.
I also was under the assumption, as per Dr. Duncan, that the only thing that needed to be submitted was the ideas, not the actual documents, on the form. The form was what I understood to be due. The scavenger hunt was put up as a document, that night, I have no idea what happened to it and never checked back, my bad I'm sorry. I added the hunt as a page, i also emailed you Erinn personally 3 times pertaining to standards not being present for 2nd graders, and have yet to get a response. I will pm you through here to make sure the address is right. I am sorry you feel that you are doing everything, and I am sorry if you feel we are not holding up to our bargain, I thought everything was under control.

2/20 -2:57 pm -- Mike, I was the only one who posted anything on the field trip form... We still need to finish it!!! We still need: CONNECTION TO PA STANDARDS: PRE-TRIP ACTIVITY: (WHAT WILL YOU DO INCLASS TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR THE FIELD TRIP?) FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY: (WHAT WILL YOU DO INCLASS TO REINFORCE CONCEPTS)
For the pre-trip activity we had mention in class that we were going to do the KWL chart and questioning and the scavenger hunt for the follow up activity but WE needed to add to it!!
Erinn
Hey guys I'm sorry about last week, all the stuff looks good and i think you guys posted all the right things. I should have contacted everyone on here and I'm sorry. If anyone needs me to do anything for the can you please post on this comment page or email me msmith1681@holyfamily.edu? I'll check this and my email again around 4:00 and later tonight.thanks

2/20 Not sure what happen to you all last week considering this all needed to be emailed last Wednesday !! I emailed what I had done to Dr. Duncan. She said it looked good. As far as the standards that I wrote they were for the activities that the zoo offered not our activity!! I got them off of the Philadelphia zoos website... I suggest everyone add to the form. Amber you had said you were going to add to the scavenger hunt and write in the standards. I posted the form under the comment page, hopefully it's not too late Erinn
Hi guys, I noticed that about the standards too. Maybe we should change it to third grade then since we need to have standards to go along with it? Here's some 3rd grade ones we could use: 3.1.3.A1: Describe characteristics of living things that help to identify and classify them. 3.1.3.A2: Describe the basic needs of living things and their dependence on light, food, air, water, and shelter.

Hey Erinn I am not sure who posted the standards or where they came from but, when I went on the Pa site they did not list any for 2nd grade only 3rd and above.. I am also a little confused by what is posted. We should only have 2nd grade...the standards if correct should have the same number at the beginning representing subject area , whichever it is for science, the next number should be the same on all different standards as well representing the content area, and the last number needs to be 2 representing the grade. I am just a little confused by how they are written and just want to be sure if they are correct.
Thanks Amber
Hi guys so I went and added all the information I got. I’m waiting for a phone call back about lunches; they offer one I just need to get pricing. Now the stuff in blue is what we mention in class but that needs to be more added, along with the scavenger hunt, Amber can you had a couple sentences to it I know you have done it before. So we need those two things and the PA Standards... now the objective is what I had written down from class, is everyone on board with that? If not throw out something and we can talk as a group. So I have this already started and saved in my word documents so if everyone is okay, once it's all completed I'll fill in the new stuff on my document and email to Dr. Duncan along with us all. Also if anyone doesn't like what I wrote let me know. Have a great night! Erinn :o) 2/9/12

I posted what I wrote down but there could have been more-Amber
What part of chapter one do we have to read for me to make a question up? I cant find it on the wiki like what we have to read?
It depends on what our group # was...does anyone remember? At the end of chapter 1 the last page all the way at the bottom tells the topics...I'm assuming we have the 5E model based on the video

Monday 1/23 - hey guys who has the answer that we had come up with for Chapter two about Measuring? We need to post that on our page. Er Tuesday 1/24/12 - uh measuring I'm checking my notes now. Is the question posted on our "our projects page"? What part of chapter one do we have to read for me to make a question up? I cant find it on the wiki like what we have to read? It depends on what our group # was...does anyone remember? At the end of chapter 1 the last page all the way at the bottom tells the topics...I'm assuming we have the 5E model based on the video
